Carl Larsson

Carl Larsson

The largely idyllic paintings, watercolours and drawings by Carl Larsson (1852-1919) primarily portray his family's life in and around their home in Sundborn, Sweden, a home that Carl Larsson received from his parents-in-law in 1888. Carl and his wife Karin are considered to be the originators of what has become a typical Swedish style of living, with its integrated elements of light, colour and love-of-life functionality.
